Renewal of the lining of the vortex head of the calcination channel

At the beginning of 2025, we embarked on a project to renew the refractory lining of the vortex head (PCC) in a calcination channel. The customer requested the renewal as a preventive measure to avoid potential collapse of the lining during operation. However, the condition of the refractory concrete proved to be good, as was the state of the stainless steel anchors made of 253MA material, which made the demolition of the refractory concrete particularly challenging. In addition to the PCC lining, we are also repairing the fireclay lining of the side walls. After thoroughly inspecting the lining, we can confidently state that the new PCC lining, installed using the same solution, will provide at least five more years of trouble-free operation.
